AWARDS, FOOD, PRIZES, FOOD, SALES, FOOD AND FUN!!!!

The May SWSG get together was a lovely, fun frolic of activities, meet- ups with old friends, a fashion show, an overflowing sales room, the annual place-setting competition and POTUCK!!! It was also our end of year business meeting so we had some serious issues to discuss and vote on: you will be getting emails with details: PLEASE REMEMBER TO READ AND VOTE.

Lets start with a new award the SWSG will present each year: The Flying Shuttle. It is the brain child of Carol Miller and is meant to show appreciation to members for extraordinary contribution to our guild. It is for the "busy bees" doing behind the scenes work that is often unnoticed but essential for the smooth operations of the guild. AND SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, LET ME PRESENT THE FIRST RECIPIENTS:

JUDE’ TARRANT WILLARD HAYNES please note the tiara on Judy head

Next we moved onto our fashion show: lots of people got up to share their fashions, but also any project they were proud to share. There was great variety and skill. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Cant have a May Potluck without the placesetting competition. This year's theme was Chuckwagon.............we really got into it. There were 3 prizes: Best Theme, Most Elegant, Most Creative..........drum roll..........the winners are:

Kaino's MOST elegant setting. Stacy's setting was so clever. Barbie brought up the rear

I want to also share some of the other settings: they were very fun to see:

Rita's fun setting Martys memorial to Chulo Our roomful of fun

Our sales room was bursting and was very successful: lots of weavers thinned out their stash and lots of weavers went home with great deals. Raffles got lots of donations at the end so look for those at the coming events.

The sales room was packed. I had to include the picture of Marilyn's bread. There is a group of us within the guild that is striving for the perfect loaf of sourdough bread. We held our little confab in the middle of the lunch. Claire and Marilyn both brought their homemade bread and shared their expertise and starters. Any time you wish, we can bore you with the details!

WE HAVE A NEW SUNSHINE PERSON; SUSAN WERRIN WILL BE SENDING OUT CARDS FOR THE GUILD. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LET HER KNOW OF ANYONE IN NEED OF A CHEER UP FOR WHATEVER REASON.

AND FINALLY; THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS LUNCH AND THIS YEAR SO FUN AND SUCCESSFUL. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING LOTS MORE MEMORIES!!
