Sharlet Elms is a long-time self-taught weaver who mentors the Hangtown Weaving Study Group and teaches weaving at Rumpelstiltskins in Sacramento. She also teaches private weaving students and workshops for guilds.

This workshop will covers structures that cause movement in your cloth i.e. waffle weave, collapse weave, furrows, seersucker, ribs and cords.

Participants must have a 4 or 8 shaft table or floor loom annd will choose a stucture and warp in the workshop to play with its possibilities. Instructions will be sent out on what yarns to bring and the instructor will have the weft yarns.

If you would like to take the workshop but dont have a small loom, let us know and we will help get you set up with one. The guild has "loaners" and I have one that someone could use if need be. Sharlet will help you all get started with your project on that first day.

It's a great, fun way to start our new year.

DONATIONS AVAILABLE TO GUILD MEMBERS:

The Guild has been given a few really nice things we would like to find homes for. The first is a Gilmore 8 harness loom. It has a 41" weaving width and is 47" wide overall. There are 2 reeds and a very nice Gilmmore bench. If you were to buy this new it would cost around $3500. We have talked about it and agreed that a $500 donation to the guild would make this yours.

The next 2 items are: a big beautiful spool rack and a small 4 harness table/portable loom.

Each of these are available for a $50 donation to the guild.

If you need more details or are interested, please email or text me.

Gilmore 8 harness loom: $500. Big Beautiful Spool Rack:$50 Small 4 harness loom:$50.
