LET GET SPINNING!!!!

Mary Choy is our Tour de Fleece cheerleader and has kindly sent me information and enthusiasm for this years Tour de Fleece. Are you ready? This years Tour de Fleece runs concurrently with the Tour de France bicycle race from Saturday July 5 to Sunday July 27. When they spin - we spin!!

Spinners challenge themselves to spin yarn every day the cyclists are riding. The idea is to focus on spinning, learn a new skill and enjoy the company of others who have a passion for handspinning and the fiber arts. The SWSG spinning group met yesterday and took up the challenge: we will be filling out our log sheets throughout the month. Prizes will be awarded for paprticipants at our August meeting.

Lofty Lou's is celebrating the event by offering a $25. gift certificate through a random drawing of team members who sign up with the Hangtown Guild. There are several meet up times set for spinning with the Hangtown Guild and you can get details through the guild or through Loft Lou's. Lofty Lou's has also received a shipment of beautiful wools in ready-to-spin roving. Check it out!
