About

Workshops is open to SWSG Guild Members Only. Please check your email and newsletter for details and cost.

Deb will begin the workshop introducing participants to Color & Value and how these decisions affect our woven projects. Following the introduction, she will direct participants in an online weave along. The workshop will be open to all skill levels of weavers and any type of looms is acceptable (rigid heddle, multi shaft floor or table looms). This workshop will be a fun, interactive online (zoom) format with Guild friends while learning about color and value and how they interact with each other in warp and weft.

Prior to the workshop Deb will provide instructions for everyone to select a photo for inspiration and choose four colors of yarn for the warp and four colors of yarn (one being black, gray or white) for weft based on the photo. Deb will provide instructions for warping your looms with your four warp colors. You can set up your loom for a longer warp and project or smaller samples. The weave structure for this weave along will be in plain weave using a plain weave sett for 2, 4 or 8 shaft-you decide.

Instructions will include how to warp the loom with the four colors selected for warp and suggestions for yarn. Class will start with everyone sharing inspirations and yarns selected followed by weaving samples and ending with sharing and discussion.
