Workshop: Swedish Art Weaves with Joanne Hall

Participants will weave a sampler with 5 Swedish techniques in the project. The weaving techniques include krabba, halv krabba, dukagang, rolakan tapestry and monksbelt. The sampler can be made into a purse, bench bag for your loom or zip bag following the workshop.

Participants will need to provide their own 4-shaft table loom with a 10 dent reed (10 EPI) for this workshop. Weaving width must be 12 inches. 

Looms will need to be pre-warped by participants. All weft materials will be provided by Joanne Hall. Joanne will help you with tieing on and tensioning your warp on the loom. This may be needed with the linen warp. Joanne has also relayed that if you plan to use a Dorothy table loom, you will find it easier to use seine twine for this project.

If you do not have your own 4-shaft loom, the guild has a few 4-shaft looms available to borrow from the equipment library.  Some Guild members may be willing to loan you a table loom.

Meeting time each day: 9am-4pm

Materials fee, to be paid to presenter on the day: $40.00 in cash

Attendees will be provided with warping instructions after sign up and payment for the workshop. Renee Laffey was able to purchase linen cones and seine twine at a reduced cost from Eugene Textile Center for the class. If participants share the cones Renee has enough for all.  1 cone of linen is enough for 3 warps, 1 cone of seine twine is enough for 7 warps.  Cones can be purchased from Renee beginning in mid November. Text or call Renee (number will be on your ticket document) to arrange for pick up. Payment will be due on pick up (cash or check). Linen cones $27.00, Seine Twine cones $25.20
