FALL IN LOVE WITH OUR FALL LINE-UP OF PROGRAMS
September is my favorite month in the weavers guild as we unfold all the exciting programs for the upcoming year. This year is going to be FANTASTIC!! AND (ALL IN CAPS) I WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE WE WILL BE BACK AT THE GARDEN AND ARTS CENTER. It has been renamed the Sacramento Garden and Arts Center and has been upgraded. It will be great to "be back home again".
Our September program on Tuesday the 22nd, will feature Sheila O'Hara from northern California. She has been weaving for over 60 years, has a BFA from Cal College of Art and has pursued a career in textiles her whole life. She has done many large scale weavings for public places and has developed a 2-faced weave structure that produces a lush surface. She has contributed to Handwoven over the years: one of the recent ones is Spring 2024 - check out the beautiful towels and give them a try. Her topic will be Weaving in the Computer Age. I cant wait!

Be sure to mark your calendars and come Sept 22 for this program and for the fun of getting together at the beginning of our year. We will have a raffle, a snack table, and we have the room until 1o'clock so plan to stay and visit with all your fellow weavers.
In October, we will have a program and workshop presented by Kathleen Waln. November we will have a ZOOM meeting by Deb Robson. January will be presentation and workshop on Weaving in Sweden.
And of course, February will be a return to our Open House!!! It is going to be a colorful, rewarding and exciting year. There's A LOT going on in our guild: Beginning Weavers Class, workshops, The Loomis group, Spinners and Weaver's Study Group, Saturday Group and Facebook groups. Please remember to use our website to keep you informed about the wheres and whens. You can use the website to sign up and pay. If you have any difficulty using the website, be sure to speak up: there are lots of us who will be happy to get you started.
We thank the members of our board who have put together this great calendar of events. We still are in need of a programs chairman and you can work on your own or put together a committee. Looking forward to see you all at the meeting.
