CHRISTMAS FUN WITH OUR PLACER COUNTY SISTERS

Bobbi welcomes us all

Do you all remember SWSG has a "sister" Saturday group that meets the first Saturday of each month in Loomis? Their official name is PLACER COUNTY FIBER ARTS GROUP and they are a sub group of SWSG. If you find the Saturday time frame and/or the Loomis location are right for you, check them out. They are an enthusiastic, fun group. The contact info is always in the Newsletter. I would recommend you get on Bobbi Long's email list so you get reminders on what is coming up.

Yesterday's meeting was a many layered day of fun: first greetings all around and then TONS of good food. An excellent buffet with warm and hearty "mains" for a cold day and then plates of sweets to go with your tea and coffee. No one went away hungry.

Gifts, Gifts, Gifts: and all handmade and all so unique. We took our time and oohed and aahed over every gift: getting the details on who made it and how.

Now after all that food and fun, we got a little work done. Some of the members wanted instruction and advice on carding their wool. Quite a few of us brought our carders and fleece so we could exchange ideas on what works best. It was eye-opening. I have been carding wool for decades and still learned new techniques to try. It was fun to be gathered round the table trying out different hand holds and rolag making ideas. Beckie helped us with the hand carders and Kathie demonstrated the drum carder. Fun fun way to learn.

Thanks to everyone who helped put this fun day together! Bobbi had made cards for all of us. And looking forward to the new year, this cute bag was passed around to remind all that the next project will be making a bag. So: Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.
