FABULOUS WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY - ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT

Sharlet Elms will be leading a 2 1/2 day workshop next week, entitled "Fabrics that Move". That means structures that cause movement in your cloth, such as waffle weave, collapse weave, furrows, seersucker, ribs and cords. She will be providing all the necessary yarn, so this is a great chance to try weaving on some unusual yarns without investing in a lot of yarn to start with.

The workshop will start on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 29, at The Reason Center after our monthly meeting. You will choose a structure and wind a narrow warp with yarn provided by Sharlet. Bring your own warping board or reel if it's portable.

Wednesday and Thursday the workshop will continue all day at Northminster Presbyterian Church. There will be time to wind the warp on your loom on the first morning. (Of course, if you want, you can start warping your loom Tuesday evening at home.)

You will need to bring your 4-8 shaft loom, your weaving gear including shuttles, bobbins, scissors, tape measure, etc. Please bring pencil and paper, computer or tablet so you have some way to take notes. You will be labeling your samples, so bring preferred labels if you have them; the guild will supply some. Finally: BRING YOUR SENSE OF ADVENTURE AND CURIOSITY.

WORKSHOP FEE: $85

MATERIALS FEE: $20
